The Clay County 1890 Jail Museum reveals what life would have been like in a 19th-century rural prison, for both sides of the law. Tours pass through jail cells as well as the private quarters of the Sheriff and his family, including the Victorian parlor where his wife would have entertained company before heading to the kitchen to prepare meals for the inmates. The museum lies a block west of the Courthouse, about 20 miles east of Wichita Falls.
